The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) describes B2 level learners as independent users of the language, i.e. those who have the necessary fluency to communicate without effort with native speakers. The CEFR is a globally recognized language system that defines and explains what language learners should be able to do in speaking, writing, listening and reading of their target language at different levels of the learning process. B2 is the fourth level out of six in the CEFR.

The upper-intermediate step-by-step curriculum is designed to guide students towards a more advanced use of the English language. The upper-intermediate curriculum is broken up into two courses (B2.1 and B2.2) of 72 double lessons each for a total of 144 academic hours.
